Once Upon a time in Bangalore-Industrial Visit

We are happy to inform that we have undertook an Industrial Visit spanning 3 days and 3 companies spread over Bangalore starting from July 22. Our batch consisted of 69 students and 3 teaching staffs accompanied us. The companies visited were Indian telecom Industry (ITI), IND Global Consultancy Solutions and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

We started our IV on July 22 to Bangalore. We landed in Yatri hotel and had our refreshments. Then we went straight to Indian Telecom Industry’s office. We were taken to the R&D facility and split into 2 batches. The session was very lively and interactive and covered the explanation & demonstration of their products ranging from encryption equipments, satellite, optical, and wireless communication systems. The emphasis was on how the systems were built and how they work. Then they gave us a graphical overview of the working of these systems in real-time conditions which were very interactive and lively.
On the second day of our itinerary, we visited IND Global Consultancy Solutions, a web-designing company. They dealt on providing web-based solutions to leading corporations in creating & maintaining their websites. Web scripting languages like JavaScript, VB script & PHP were given an introduction and taught how to embed them in the HTML/CSS codes to design a website. We were given demos about how to create such web pages and we also created some sample HTML/CSS documents. Also handling and maintenance of dynamic webpages were taught so as to minimize net traffic problems and to handle graphic content in these pages with flair.

On the ultimate day, we visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), our country’s premium aviation institute. We were thrilled to see the state-of-the-art facilities inside the organization which have been maintained remarkably well. Glimpses of flying jets & aircrafts breezed through us .When we entered, we were briefed about the facilities inside it. We were taken to the communication systems installed there between the ground control centre and the aircrafts.
We were explained as how communication takes place from control centre to aircrafts at the time of flight and all possible emergency conditions. An overview about the encoding and encryption of signals were explained. Then, we were taken to the Heritage Museum where they showed some of the aircrafts which survived Indo-Pak war and Russian built stealth models.
